It isn't Spring Break unless you.....

Learn a lesson or two!
1st - When Brooke and Jason and Matt and Shannon go on vacation they make it sound super fun.  Do what they do and go where they went!  (Thanks for the idea guys!)

2nd - Never, I repeat NEVER leave Vegas on a Sunday night and head to California!  It will take 8 hrs instead of the regular 5 1/2 and your husband may toy with the idea of leaving you (because of the 2 yr old tantrum thrown by the 30 something yr old and not the 2 yr old)!

3rd - Always remember to thank your husband for being a patient, patient man!

4th - San Diego Zoo = a wonderful day!

5th - Braden will glance for a picture but it will only be for a second and it will look painful!

6th - Favorite memory of the trip was not documented or photographed, lesson learned - take more video!

Favorite memory - BMan had anticipated seeing the Tigers all day (they are his favorite).  So we spent a little bit of time at the Tigers Cage and we actually even read the sign (mom you would be so proud).  We learned that the sign had buttons that you could push and hear Tiger calls..noises.. they were all very loud and scary!  Jake and BMan pushed the button for  "Tiger Roar" and Layla stopped dead in her tracks, threw her arms in the air in such a girly fashion and said, "RUN"!  She then preceded to run away very fast, I think she was quite sure there must be immanent danger lurking by!

7th - You can never bring enough treats for BMan, he will always eat a snack and never eat a meal (guaranteed)!  Even the zebra doesn't compare to Cheetos!

- Another snack for BMan!  The book was interesting but that was because he could hold his snack with his left hand!

8th - Dress your boys in similar color shirts, it was accidental and I used to make fun of people for doing this but after admitting I am a nerdy mom the idea is really quite practical!

9th - When Layla asks in the future why many of the pictures are of just the boys,.... do not admit that you really didn't want to take her out of the stroller for the 54th time.  Maybe in the future she will forgive us when she realized that it took an hour to convince her that she even wanted to be in the stroller and not running wildly through mobs of people!

Layla - little do you know that you are not in this picture because you were screaming!  Why were you screaming, because being the good mother that I am....I had just run over your foot with the stroller!

Most appropriate pic of the day - Monkeys!
(do you think the lady yanking her son's arm off in the background thinks he is a monkey too?)

10th - Braden loves tigers (why we don't have a pic, I don't know) but Jake loves bears and snakes!

and...........Layla loves goats!

11th - BMan loves sky rides, he will smile a "real smile" if you just give him what he wants!

 Moving on to Lego Land!

1st - The beginning of every day in a theme park starts like this, smiles and happiness......  except for Layla who was tired of the paparazzi!

The ending of every day in an adventure park ends like this...  frozen lemonade, tantrums and parents who turned into sad Lego People because they could not keep everyone happy at the same time!

Just kidding - we had a BLAST!
There were tantrums but we laughed our way through most of them!

2nd - From the pictures we took it looks like Jake and Braden had a great time at Lego Land.  Rand, Layla and myself may or may not have been on the same vacation!

3rd -Layla was on vacation with us.

Oh there you are Miss Layla!

Remember this ride?

Remember the kicking and screaming and gnashing of teeth when we tried to get you off this ride?  You loved it so much we went on it again and again...each with the same reaction when you got off.

Oh and remember when you could not wait to see this princess and you were the 1st in line and you didn't want to leave her?  I will let you in on a little secret.....she gave you more time than any of the other little girls in line, she thought you were darling!

Great start to a great Spring Break (it doesn't even matter that I am blogging this a month after the fact)!
