We came home to rest.......

With the summer going great and kids doing well we decided we better come home for a week and rest.  Remember, rest = happier kids!

Summertime in Mesquite means the kiddos have to be creative to fill up the long summer days.

Let's start with Brady Bug!
The BMan took swimming lessons and became quite the diver!  (Of course no pictures to prove it).
He also became dad's right hand man when it came to target practice at the new lot.
Braden proves to be dad's best supporter.

Jakester stayed busy with football conditioning and perfecting the technique of bugging his little brother!

BMan pretty much worships the ground Jake walks on and so when Jake says jump the BMan says how high?

The kids learned that the pest control guy really puts a damper on supplying to their daily bug collections!

Lu Lu and Brady bug used their intellect for changing this water table into a  private pool.  I must add this is now Layla's favorite place to sit, if it has water in it, she is in it too!

When 104 feels like (H.E. double hockey sticks) at 6:00 at night,  movie nights go from being fun to a necessity!   Layla can eat more popcorn then both her brothers, she is a girl after my own heart!

Kids are innovative and long summer days = boy's destroying their room!
The heart wrenching fight that comes with tearing down a hut that was built from blood, sweat and tears is such a constant battle?

When I say we came home to rest it was actually for just a few short days!  We were needed immediately up in Enterprise to help Grandma Bracken watch all the "crazy" cousins.  With Rand working in Fallon and all of the adults hiking overnight in Pine Valley, grandma had her hands FULL.

One question..........do you think that me showing up with three more kids actually helped Charlene???

There are benefits to Grandpa Bracken being the mayor.......we have private tours of the fire station whenever the kids want!  This comes in particularly handy when Jake has to pass off "visit the fire station for scouts"!
A few days of watching all these kiddos and we were ready for an ambulance ride ourselves.

Miss Layla is pictured in jammies a little too often but if you were 31 lbs, you might want to be in "stretchy clothes too"!  We love our little "tank", she is seriously the cutest curly topped girl around!

Grandpa are  you checking your cell phone when all these kiddos are waiting to hear from your wealth of knowledge?
I think he was hoping for a fire alarm......... so he could escape the madness!

Grandma's are smart and never sweat the small stuff!  They know what to do when times get tough and always find a solution to everything.  When given two babies at the same time, grandma knew her best bet was to just plop herself down on the 4 wheeler and life seemed pretty ok!

We love our weeks of rest!
